The Zhitong Finance App learned that Dekang Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (02419) rose more than 6%. As of press release, it had risen 6.21% to HK$49.58, with a turnover of HK$27.723 million.

According to the news, the “Creation and Application of Chinese Breeding Pig Breeding Technology and Core Breeding Sources”, led by Huang Lusheng's team, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangxi Agricultural University, and Professor Zhu Li's team from Sichuan Agricultural University and 28 research institutes and leading enterprises from all over the country, including Dekang Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. This is the first time that China's pig breeding industry has won this award. It is also the only national agricultural sector to receive the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award this year, marking the official shift of China's pig industry from “scale expansion” to “core technology drive.”

Through cooperation with scientific research institutes such as Sichuan Agricultural University, Dekang Agriculture and Animal Husbandry has successfully transformed technological breakthroughs into cost moats and ecological synergy advantages that are difficult to replicate. In June of this year, the total cost of pig farming remained at the top level of the industry, around 11.8 yuan/kg, so it still has a strong ability to survive and develop during a cycle of widespread losses in the industry. At the same time, the continuous improvement of the core competitiveness of Dekang pig breeding sources brought about by cooperation with Sichuan Agricultural University and others, and the continuous improvement of the independent and iterative breeding system, Dekang's supporting role on the breeding side will become more and more prominent.
