12:03 AM EDT, 06/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's Senate Department for Urban Mobility, Transport, Climate Action and the Environment flagged on June 26 the completion of the review of the award of a major railway project in the country to a consortium comprising S-Bahn Berlin, Siemens Mobility and Stadler Germany. The respective subsidiaries of the national rail operator Deutsche Bahn, German technology group Siemens (SIE.F), and Swiss railway rolling stock manufacturer Stadler Rail (SRAIL.SW) secured the contract for the SBSNS-II S-Bahn project. It will involve the delivery of trains to serve the Berlin and Brandenburg metropolitan region. Completion of the review followed the Berlin Public Procurement Chamber's rejection on June 12 of the review application for the tender. The Senate department also noted that French rail and transport equipment company Alstom's (ALO.PA) German arm Alstom Transportation Germany confirmed that it will not appeal the decision.
