Are my Crypto holdings insured?

Your crypto holdings are not protected under CIPF (Canadian Investor Protection Fund). However, the cash held within your crypto account is CIPF-protected.

Where your crypto is held

Your holdings are stored primarily in cold storage through Coinbase Trust, a regulated custodian approved by CIRO that follows strict compliance frameworks.

Account-level security

We've also added additional security measures, including New Device Authentication and a required Trading Password at login.

1. New Device Authentication: Logging in from an unrecognized device requires approval, which you can obtain by contacting our dedicated support channels.

2. Trading Password: A separate password is required before you can view or trade in your account, adding a layer of protection beyond your login credentials.
