ATON Transfers (Account Transfer Online Notification) - What is it?

ATON Transfers automates the exchange and confirmation of requests for transfers and assets list details between the deliverer and receiver. To simplify, it’s an electronic ledger that every brokerage uses to make transfers of accounts between each other easier. Here’s how a regular transfer between to brokerages would look like:

1. The receiver of the new account sends instructions (Request for Transfers) through ATON to the deliverer who is relinquishing the account.

2. The deliverer returns the request for transfers listing the client assets (asset list) that will be transferred.

3. The receiver confirms the request for transfer or disputes the assets identified.

4. Once confirmed, eligible items to be transferred through ATON are settled (cash and securities go through CDS or DTC).

Please be aware, if any unsupported asset such as, (fixed income securities, GICs, mutual funds, private investments, pink sheets, open option positions, US OTC market securities) are transferred in, we reserve the right to liquidate on our behalf.
