The Lebanese presidential palace issued a statement on the 8th local time, saying it fully supported the statement issued by the Lebanese army earlier in the day to “complete the first phase of the weapons control program” and emphasized that the military plays an important role in maintaining national authority and restoring sovereignty throughout Lebanon. Lebanese President Aoun stated in a statement that the deployment of the Lebanese army in the southern region reflects a national decision based on the Constitution, national policies, and related international obligations. This is aimed at ensuring absolute national control over weapons and preventing the use of Lebanese territory for any hostile action. Aoun reiterated Lebanon's commitment to the cease-fire and urged the international community, particularly friendly countries and neighboring countries, to support Lebanon in implementing the cease-fire agreement, prevent the flow of arms or related materials to any party other than the Lebanese army, and speed up support for the Lebanese army so that it can continue to perform its national duties and maintain stability. Aoun also reaffirmed his full trust in the Lebanese army.
