On January 7, with the support and cooperation of relevant Cambodian departments, the Ministry of Public Security dispatched a task force to successfully escort Chen Zhi, the leader of a major cross-border gambling criminal syndicate, back home from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is another major achievement of Sino-Cambodian law enforcement cooperation. Investigations revealed that Chen Zhi's criminal group is suspected of various crimes such as opening a casino, fraud, illegal operation, and concealing criminal proceeds. Currently, Chen Zhi has taken coercive measures in accordance with the law, and related cases are being further investigated. A relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Public Security said that the public security authorities will publicly search for the first batch of key members of Chen Zhi's criminal syndicate in the near future and will resolutely arrest the fugitives and bring them to justice. The public security authorities are suing the criminals, understood the situation, and immediately surrendered voluntarily to seek leniency.
