Implenia, Marti JV Wins CHF1.7 Billion Contracts from Swiss Federal Railways

01:48 AM EST, 01/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swiss construction and real estate group Implenia (IMPN.SW) said Thursday it secured major contracts from Swiss Federal Railways through a joint venture with Marti to deliver key sections of the MehrSpur Zurich-Winterthur project. The 50/50 JV was awarded contracts for five of six construction lots, with the total order valued at 1.7 billion francs, of which Implenia's share amounts to 830 million francs. The project includes the construction of the 8.3-kilometer Brüttener tunnel between Dietlikon and Winterthur, as well as the expansion of the Dietlikon, Bassersdorf, Wallisellen, and Winterthur Töss stations. Construction is expected to span 10 years, with tunnel boring scheduled to start in August 2029.
