A Foreign Ministry spokesman announced that Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, will be invited to visit Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania and Lesotho from January 7 to 12 and attend the opening ceremony of the “China-Africa Cultural Exchange Year” at the African Union headquarters. This is the first time in 36 consecutive years that a Chinese foreign minister has visited Africa.
