According to the data, Russian crude oil exports fell sharply in the last few weeks of 2025 and after entering the new year. Prices fell for 14 consecutive weeks, combined with shrinking shipments, causing total exports to fall to the lowest level since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict broke out in February 2022. In the four weeks ending January 4, Russia exported 3.43 million barrels of crude oil per day. This figure is about 440,000 barrels lower than the same period as of December 21, mainly due to a drop in shipments from Cozmino, a key Pacific port. Export flows fluctuate greatly and are significantly affected by weather, sanctions and delivery schedules. According to ship tracking data and port agency reports, in the week ending January 4, a total of 30 tankers carried 21.46 million barrels of Russian crude oil. This figure is lower than the 23.59 million barrels carried by 32 ships the previous week. Looking at the average daily level, shipments for the week ending January 4 fell to 3.07 million barrels per day, down about 290,000 barrels per day from the previous week, and 980,000 barrels per day from the week ending December 21. This drop brought it to its lowest level since August last year.
