ConocoPhillips, one of America's top three oil giants, said this evening that it is still too early to speculate whether the company will participate in projects related to expanding oil production in Venezuela. Trump said at a press conference on Saturday: “We will let America's largest oil companies — and the world's leading oil companies — enter Venezuela and spend billions of dollars to repair the country's dilapidated infrastructure and generate revenue for the country.” A ConocoPhillips spokesperson said the company “is closely monitoring developments in Venezuela and its possible impact on global energy supply and stability. It is still too early to speculate on any future business activity or investment”.
