The USDA announced the rules of its $12 billion agricultural bailout plan on Wednesday, which includes a subsidy of $30.88 per acre for soybean growers. The US Department of Agriculture said that eligible farmers are expected to receive the subsidy payments by February 28, and the funds will be distributed directly to their bank accounts. The bailout plan, which was announced earlier this month, disburses 11 billion US dollars of special funds to field crop growers, while the remaining funds are set aside to support cash crop and sugar crop growers. The amount of the subsidy is approved based on three indicators: actual crop cultivation area in 2025, production cost data published by the US Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Economic Research, and the “World Agricultural Product Supply and Demand Estimation Report” published monthly by the department.
