According to the latest data, as of December 29, the total import and export volume of fruits and vegetables completed through the China-Lao Railway in 2025 reached 380,000 tons, an increase of 45.8% over the previous year. In the same period, the amount of fruits and vegetables shipped from China to Laos via the China-Laos Railway reached 174,000 tons, an increase of 61% over the same period of the previous year. The amount of fruits and vegetables shipped from Laos to China was 206,000 tons, and trade activity increased significantly. In particular, during the peak fruit harvesting season in Southeast Asia in 2025, in about half a month from mid-April to early May, the total amount of fruit transported via the China-Laos Railway exceeded 20,000 tons, covering a variety of fruits such as durian, mangosteen, longan, and bananas from Thailand, Laos, etc.
