As a strategic welfare project for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, the central Shanxi Yellow River Basin plans to supply 602 million cubic meters of water per year. After completion, 1.5 million mu of irrigation area will be added and improved to ease the conflict between industrial, agricultural, and ecological water shortages along the route. As an important part of the project, the West Main Line is 107.22 kilometers long, of which the tunnel is 93.38 kilometers long. The relevant person in charge of Wanjiazhai Water Control Group said that with the completion of the West Main Line, the central Shanxi Yellow Diversion Project is progressing at an accelerated pace towards full operation.
