This morning, an ambulance carrying a 75-year-old Hong Kong patient left the Zhuhai People's Hospital and went directly to the Hong Kong Princess Margaret Hospital via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. This is the first “point-to-point” transfer since the launch of the Zhuhai-Hong Kong Ambulance Cross-border Transfer Service. At 8:48, the ambulance departed from Zhuhai People's Hospital and successfully arrived at Hong Kong Princess Margaret Hospital via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The whole journey took only 93 minutes. In March of this year, the Zhuhai-Macao cross-border direct ambulance transfer service was first launched; on November 7, the Zhuhai-Hong Kong cross-border transit service was also officially launched. The smooth transfer of the first Hong Kong patient marks that Zhuhai has become the first mainland city in the country to launch a “hospital-hospital” point-to-point ambulance transport service with Hong Kong and Macau at the same time.
