The Zhitong Finance App learned that on December 31, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced China's international investment position for the end of September 2025. At the end of September 2025, China's foreign financial assets were US$1157.3 billion, external liabilities were US$7459.7 billion, and net external assets were US$4047.6 billion.

Among foreign financial assets, direct investment assets were US$3433.6 billion, securities investment assets of US$1952 billion, financial derivative assets of US$26.4 billion, other investment assets of US$240.64 billion, and reserve assets of US$3688.9 billion, accounting for 30%, 17%, 0.2%, 21% and 32% of foreign financial assets, respectively; among external liabilities, direct investment liabilities were US$3743 billion, securities investment liabilities were US$2327.2 billion, financial derivative liabilities were US$23.9 billion, and other investment liabilities were US$136.56 billion, accounting for 50 percent of external liabilities, respectively. %, 31%, 0.3%, and 18%.

According to SDR values, at the end of September 2025, China's foreign financial assets were 8393.5 billion SDR, external liabilities were 544.1.2 billion SDR, and net external assets were 2952.4 billion SDR.
