The State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced China's balance of payments for the third quarter and the first three quarters of 2025. Data show that in the third quarter of 2025, China had a current account surplus of 1416.5 billion yuan and a capital and financial account deficit of 1714.4 billion yuan. In the first three quarters of 2025, China had a current account surplus of 3529.1 billion yuan and a capital and financial account deficit of 370.8 billion yuan. In dollar terms, in the third quarter of 2025, China had a current account surplus of 198.7 billion US dollars, including a surplus of trade in goods of 269.5 billion US dollars, a deficit of 49.3 billion US dollars in trade in services, an initial revenue deficit of 29.6 billion US dollars, and a secondary revenue surplus of 8.1 billion US dollars. The capital and financial account deficit was US$24.5 billion, of which the capital account surplus was US$100 million and the financial account deficit was US$24.5 billion.
