The China Automobile Dealers Association issued a document on December 31 stating that compared with previous years, the 2026 New Deal relaxes the registration deadline for all categories of used cars eligible for subsidies by one year compared to the 2025 policy. Policy dividends cover a wider range of consumer groups, so that more car owners with old models can enjoy the benefits of subsidies, thereby speeding up the upgrading of old vehicles and effectively stimulating consumption potential. According to preliminary estimates by the China Automobile Dealers Association, the number of passenger cars receiving subsidies is expected to exceed 12 million, driving the consumption of new cars to nearly 1.5 million. The 2026 car trade-in policy will benefit more consumers than in 2025.
