Spain Taps Airbus Unit, Indra for Study on Future Signals Intelligence Aircraft

08:04 AM EST, 12/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Spain's Ministry of Defence selected Airbus (AIR.PA) subsidiary Airbus Defence and Space, and Indra Sistemas (IDR.MC) to conduct an 18-month conceptual definition study for its future Signals Intelligence aircraft. The study will analyze and define the "most suitable platform" and signals intelligence equipment for three aircraft designed to detect, track, classify, and identify targets of interest for the Spanish air and space force, according to a Tuesday release. Airbus Defence and Space will propose a customized aircraft, while both companies will assess the integration of electronic and communications intelligence systems to determine the program's development and implementation.
