On Sunday EST, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan predicted during an interview that the tension related to Trump's tariffs will ease somewhat next year. Moynihan said he believes the Trump administration will work to “ease the situation rather than exacerbate the situation” next year, and will set the average tariff level of other countries around 15%. However, he expects tariffs to be raised for countries that do not agree to purchase from the US or are unwilling to lower non-tariff barriers. “Reducing the full 10% tariff to the 15% tariff for most countries won't have much impact,” Moynihan said. “This is where our team thinks the situation is beginning to ease.” Moynihan's Bank of America is America's largest small business lender. Moynihan said that even if the tariff issue is eased, the problems faced by US small business customers are still far more than just tariffs, but also problems such as labor shortages due to immigration policies.
