CAF-led Consortium Bags EUR630 Million Automated Metro System Contract in Italy

04:33 AM EST, 12/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A CAF (CAF.MC)-led consortium secured a 630 million-euro contract to design and implement a fully automated metro system in Naples, Italy, according to a Tuesday release. The full scope of the contract for lot 2 of the new Naples Metro Line 10 covers signalling systems, electrical substations, telecommunications, and a new fleet of fully automated trains, among several other things. The initial base stage of the project is valued at 259 million euros. The contract was awarded by EAV srl, the Italian public transport operator for the Campania region. The consortium includes Leonardo (LDO.MI), AET, Francesco Ventura Costruzioni Ferroviarie, and Mer Mec STE.
