Recently, at the Huangmugang Transportation Hub in Shenzhen, Guangdong, the intelligent guide dog “Little Garlic” was piloted for the first time to facilitate subway travel for the visually impaired. A reservation service model was used during the trial period. At the Huangmugang Transportation Hub intelligent guide dog demonstration application site, the intelligent guide dog “Little Garlic” can complete tasks such as dynamic route planning, blind path tracking, intelligent obstacle avoidance, visual recognition, and multilingual interaction to guide visually impaired people to their destinations. Currently, the Huangmugang hub has set up separate smart guide dog service points at barrier-free vertical elevators next to entrance 13 and port 14. During the trial period, an appointment service model is used. After the visually impaired passengers arrive at the service point, staff will provide intelligent guide dogs and guide the operation. After that, it will be automated and specially promoted at some subway stations, gradually moving from “pilot demonstration” to “normal inclusiveness.”
