In terms of total volume, Dongguan has stabilized its status as a “major foreign trade city.” During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, Dongguan's total foreign trade import and export volume remained above 1.3 trillion yuan; from January to November 2025, the city's imports and exports were 1436.19 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3% over the previous year, ranking fifth in the country and second in the province. The growth rate was higher than that of the whole country and the province, leading key foreign trade markets within and outside the province. It is expected that the annual import and export volume will reach a record high.
