The Cambodian State Secretariat for Border Affairs issued a press release on the 29th saying that Cambodia has issued a diplomatic note to Thailand proposing to hold an emergency special meeting of the Cambodian-Thai Joint Border Committee in Siem Reap Province in Cambodia in the first week of January 2026. The press release said that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss and continue to advance the survey and demarcation work with a view to achieving lasting peace along the border. As of now, the Thai side has yet to take a stand on the above incident.
