Guiguan Electric Power announced that Longtan Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, plans to start construction of a 1,000-ton navigable building. As the backbone of the Hongshui River cascade control project, the Longtan Hydropower Station was originally built according to the 500-ton standard, then upgraded to the 1,000-ton level due to the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission. Construction of the original 500-ton project was suspended in 2018. In 2023, the Guangxi and Guizhou Provincial and Regional Development and Reform Commissions jointly approved the feasibility study report for the 1,000-ton project. The construction period was 69 months, and the estimated total investment of the project was 5.346 billion yuan.
