Central Bank: At the end of the 3rd quarter of 2025, the total assets of China's financial institutions were 531.76 trillion yuan, up 8.7% year-on-year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to preliminary statistics from the central bank, at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2025, the total assets of China's financial institutions were 531.76 trillion yuan, up 8.7% year on year. Among them, the total assets of banking institutions were 474.31 trillion yuan, up 7.9% year on year; total assets of securities institutions were 17.05 trillion yuan, up 16.5% year on year; and total assets of insurance institutions were 40.4 trillion yuan, up 15.4% year on year.

The debt of financial institutions was 485.85 trillion yuan, up 8.8% year on year. Among them, banking institution debt was 435.95 trillion yuan, up 8% year on year; securities institution debt was 13.25 trillion yuan, up 19.2% year on year; and insurance institution debt was 36.65 trillion yuan, up 15.3% year on year.
