The Sudanese Rapid Support Force announced on the 24th that its forces have fully controlled areas bordering Chad in Northern Darfur in western Sudan, including Umm Kamra and Abu Barrow. The organization said the move ended control of government forces in the area, and said that military forces had been deployed to “protect civilians and restore order.” Following this operation, rapid support forces have taken control of the border lines between the Sudan and Chad, Libya, Central Africa and South Sudan. Currently, the Sudanese military has yet to take a stand on this.
