On the 24th, the Japan Fair Trade Commission released the results of a survey on the transactions of “creators” and producers involved in animation and film production. It was discovered that when the order was placed, there were cases where transaction conditions such as commission fees were not clearly stipulated, and remuneration for additional work was not paid. The Commission notes that this may violate the Anti-Monopoly Law and the Small and Medium Contracting Transactions Rationalization Law after the amendments to the Contracting Law. Guidelines will be formulated in the future to urge the industry to make improvements.
