The Ministry of Public Security held a special press conference in Beijing to report on the results of the joint deployment by the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration to crack down on “black and gray” criminal clusters in the financial sector. According to the press conference, from June to November of this year, the Ministry of Public Security, together with the State Administration of Financial Supervision, deployed 17 key provinces and cities to carry out a six-month crackdown on “black and gray” criminal clusters in the financial sector. Since the beginning of the work, public security organs across the country have organized clusters and launched nearly 60 crackdowns. In total, more than 1,500 “black and gray” criminal cases were filed, investigated and dealt with in the financial sector, and more than 200 professional criminal gangs were knocked out. The total amount involved was nearly 30 billion yuan, effectively purifying the financial market ecology, making every effort to maintain the country's financial management order, security and stability, and strongly protecting the legitimate rights and interests of financial consumers.
