Recently, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force detected excessive levels of perfluorine and polyfluoroalkyl substances in and around a base in Miyazaki Prefecture. According to the latest survey results, the Air Self-Defense Force is located in and around the Shintawara base in Shintomi-cho, and in 8 inspected water bodies, 7 locations contained perfluorine and polyfluoroalkyl substances exceeding the standards. The Miyazaki prefectural government requested the cooperation of the Shintawara base in investigating the cause of the pollution.
