The German government is in talks with Troilos Mining to invest in a large-scale mining project to ensure the critical copper supply needed for the energy transition. The funding will come from Germany's newly established raw materials fund, which is managed by KfW and can provide up to 150 million euros of financial support for each project. Troilos plans to restart a gold mine in Quebec. The mine will also produce copper as a by-product. It has now reached a financing and offtake agreement with Germany's Caesar Copper.
