During the month, the airport handled a total of 5.19 million passengers, and the number of aircraft take-off and landing was 33,495, up 17.1% and 7.7%, respectively. The number of transit/transit passengers recorded a significant increase, up 50.9% year on year, and cargo volume increased 5.9% year on year to 486,000 metric tons. During the month, the number of visitors to Hong Kong and transit/transit passengers both recorded double-digit year-on-year increases. Among them, the number of visitors traveling to and from mainland China and North America increased most significantly, while the increase in the number of transit/transit passengers was mainly driven by the Southeast Asian and Mainland China markets.
