Listen to the news

The board of Softcreate Holdings Corp. (TSE:3371) has announced that it will pay a dividend on the 5th of June, with investors receiving ¥31.00 per share. This takes the dividend yield to 3.0%, which shareholders will be pleased with.

Softcreate Holdings' Projected Earnings Seem Likely To Cover Future Distributions

We like to see robust dividend yields, but that doesn't matter if the payment isn't sustainable. However, Softcreate Holdings' earnings easily cover the dividend. As a result, a large proportion of what it earned was being reinvested back into the business.

Over the next year, EPS could expand by 17.8% if recent trends continue. If the dividend continues along recent trends, we estimate the payout ratio will be 43%, which is in the range that makes us comfortable with the sustainability of the dividend.

Softcreate Holdings Has A Solid Track Record

The company has a sustained record of paying dividends with very little fluctuation. Since 2015, the dividend has gone from ¥10.00 total annually to ¥62.00. This works out to be a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 20% a year over that time. So, dividends have been growing pretty quickly, and even more impressively, they haven't experienced any notable falls during this period.

The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow

Some investors will be chomping at the bit to buy some of the company's stock based on its dividend history. Softcreate Holdings has seen EPS rising for the last five years, at 18% per annum. With a decent amount of growth and a low payout ratio, we think this bodes well for Softcreate Holdings' prospects of growing its dividend payments in the future.

Softcreate Holdings Looks Like A Great Dividend Stock

Overall, we think this could be an attractive income stock, and it is only getting better by paying a higher dividend this year. The company is easily earning enough to cover its dividend payments and it is great to see that these earnings are being translated into cash flow. All in all, this checks a lot of the boxes we look for when choosing an income stock.

It's important to note that companies having a consistent dividend policy will generate greater investor confidence than those having an erratic one.
