On December 17, 2025, Dragon Zhou, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Denham, Assistant Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, co-hosted the fifth round of Sino-Canadian consular consultations in Ottawa. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on topics such as strengthening consular cooperation, facilitating personnel exchanges, and safeguarding the safety and legitimate rights and interests of citizens. The two sides agreed to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the consular field, promote the resolution of their legitimate concerns, and make positive contributions to the healthy, stable and sustainable development of Sino-Canadian relations.
