Scientists at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in the US have developed an artificial intelligence system called a “phenotypic variation prediction tool” that can not only identify pathogenic genetic mutations, but also predict the types of diseases that these mutations may cause. V2P is expected to speed up the diagnosis process of genetic diseases and support the development of new treatments for complex and rare diseases. The relevant results were published in the online edition of “Nature Communications” on the 15th.
