On December 17, the “Live in Beijing” WeChat account stated that in order to effectively strengthen the governance of the network ecosystem and resolutely curb cyber chaos in the real estate sector, the Beijing Municipal Housing and Construction Commission, the Internet Information Office of the Municipal Committee, the Municipal Public Security Bureau and other departments conducted joint interviews on Internet platforms such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Shell, 58 Tongcheng, Xianyu, Chainjia, I Love My Family, and Maitian. The article mentioned that some self-media accounts have problems with posting and spreading illegal information on the Internet, such as undermining the Beijing property market, spreading false information, and draining false listings, etc., seriously disrupting the market order. All platforms are required to immediately carry out comprehensive self-checks, promptly remove illegal information, dispose of illegal accounts, and speed up the establishment and improvement of a normalized internal review mechanism for industry content. As of December 12, under the supervision of relevant departments, 58 website platforms such as Tongcheng, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Xianyu, and Shell have self-inspected and cleaned up more than 17,000 pieces of illegal and bad information; cleaned up and disposed of a number of illegal real estate accounts and live broadcast rooms that amplify market fluctuations, sales anxiety, speculative policies, and spread false content to obtain traffic and mislead expectations; delete more than 100 illegal real estate accounts and live broadcast rooms; deleted and processed more than 100 illegal notes. The Chainjia, I Love My Family, and Maitian platforms have screened more than 1.3 million online listings, and removed more than 480 listings that are not compliant. In the next step, relevant departments will continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation, always insist on guiding public opinion with positive voices, forging consensus with mainstream values, purifying the network with the new style of the times, and maintaining a “zero tolerance” high-pressure situation for all kinds of cyber chaos that disrupts the real estate market order. Internet platforms that have failed to advance rectification and reform and continue to infringe on the interests of the public will be strictly investigated and punished in accordance with the law, and every effort will be made to create a clear cyberspace.
