04:20 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Saudi Arabian energy and infrastructure company Midad Energy is among the preferred suitors for Russian oil giant Lukoil's foreign assets worth $22 billion, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing three unnamed sources. Lukoil is looking to divest its international assets, including oilfields, refineries, and several fuel stations, due to the US sanctions imposed in October on Russia. Other bidders for the assets include US oil groups Exxon Mobil and Chevron, and private equity company Carlyle. Midad Energy, Lukoil and the US Treasury did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
