German Ifo Business Climate Weakens in December

04:14 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's business climate index edged down to 87.6 points in December from the revised 88 points in November, according to data from the ifo Institute published Wednesday. Analysts expected 88.2 points for the month. Meanwhile, the current situation index stood at 85.6 points, in line with the previous reading and against the market forecast of 85.7 points. The expectations indicator declined to 89.7 points from the prior revised reading and consensus estimate of 90.5 points.
