According to Xinao Fusion's official WeChat news today, neutral beam heating technology is a key auxiliary heating technology to commercialize fusion. The Xinao fusion heating technology research and development team spent two years of intensive cultivation. The system promoted research in the fields of ion source physics, beam engineering design and integration, and beam debugging, etc., and recently achieved breakthrough progress: the total ion power of the two sets of positive ion source neutral beam systems reached 5 MW, and the injection power reached 2.5 MW, all of which reached the design goals. This achievement not only achieved a phased increase in the heating capacity of the “Xuanlong 50U” device, but also paved the way for the design and development of the next generation of high-energy, high-power cable systems, and laid the foundation for the verification of hydrogen-boron fusion reactions and gains. Currently, the R&D team is preparing to build the third neutral beam system. The physical design and engineering design have been successfully completed. It is expected to be completed in 2026. At that time, the total neutral beam injection power of Xinao fusion will reach 6.5 MW, injecting stronger impetus into commercial exploration of fusion technology.
