At noon on December 15, local time, a small plane crashed while trying to make an emergency landing in central Mexico. According to the local civil protection department, the private jet had 8 passengers and 2 crew members registered, but only 7 bodies were found a few hours after the crash, and no survivors on board have been found so far. The small plane took off from Acapulco on Mexico's Pacific coast. The crash occurred in an industrial area, only 5 km from Toluca Airport near the capital Mexico City. The civil defense department said that the small plane apparently tried to land urgently on a nearby soccer field, but it hit the metal roof of an enterprise, causing a fire. The fire forced the evacuation of around 130 people from the area. The crash is currently under investigation.
