The Zhitong Finance App learned that recently, the “Global Server Market Quarterly Tracking Report” released by IDC showed that in the third quarter of 2025, the server market revenue reached a record 112.4 billion US dollars, a sharp increase of 61% over the previous year, once again setting a high double-digit growth rate. Among them, Lenovo Group (00992) ranked among the top three in the global server market with steady performance. The core indicators showed a significant competitive advantage: revenue increased 26.1% year-on-year, leading the growth rate among leading companies, and ranked third in the market with Inspur Technology, becoming one of the core drivers for the growth of the global server market.

Against the backdrop of increased competition in the global server market, Lenovo's rapid growth is worth watching. According to IDC data, among the leading companies in the global server market this quarter, companies such as Ultra Micro (down 13.2% year on year), Wave (down 10.5% year on year), and HPE (down 2.3%% year over year) all experienced varying degrees of revenue decline, while Lenovo achieved 26.1% year-on-year growth with deep technical cultivation and diversified product matrices in the AI server field, consolidating the top three global market positions.

In the third quarter of 2025, x86 server revenue increased 32.8% year over year to reach 76.3 billion US dollars; non-x86 server revenue surged 192.7% year over year to 36.2 billion US dollars.

In the third quarter of 2025, embedded GPU server revenue increased 49.4% year over year, accounting for more than half of the total revenue in the server market. The rapid adoption of embedded GPU servers by hyperscale data center operators and cloud service providers is driving the growth of the server market — global server market revenue reached US$314.2 billion in the first three quarters of 2025, nearly doubling from 2024.

IDC anticipates that AI adoption will continue to grow at an impressive rate as major vendors continue to report record orders and a strong backlog of orders. Hyperscale computing companies and cloud service providers are still moving forward with new large-scale deployment projects that require much higher computational density. Additionally, we're starting to see some important AI-based research and education projects that will help drive further market growth.”

The US is the region with the fastest growth in the server market, with a 79.1% increase compared to the third quarter of 2024. This increase was mainly due to the 105.5% surge in the accelerated server segment; the Canadian market grew 69.8%, driven by the same factors. In the third quarter of 2025, the Chinese market grew 37.6% year over year, accounting for nearly one-fifth of the world's total quarterly revenue. The Asia Pacific (excluding Japan), Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Japan markets all achieved healthy double-digit growth, with year-on-year increases of 37.4%, 31.0%, and 28.1%, respectively; while the Latin American market grew slowly, only achieving low single-digit growth of 4.1% this quarter.
