Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has published a new book, “The Prisoner's Diary,” detailing his recent prison life. The new book not only describes Paris's La Sainte prison as a “hell full of threats,” but also explains Sarkozy's views on current French politicians of all factions. Sarkozy was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the “Libyan political donation case”. He was imprisoned in Paris La Sainte prison on October 21, and released on bail 20 days later. In an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, he said that most of the content of the new book was completed in prison. “I use a ballpoint pen to write on a small plywood table every day,” and he wrote a new book of more than 200 pages in less than 3 weeks. “The Prisoner's Diary” was officially published on the 10th, and Sarkozy himself went to a bookstore to hold a signing event, which was welcomed by many supporters.
