The Zhitong Finance App learned that on December 9, the Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government published the results of a month-on-month statistical survey on the business conditions of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in November 2025. The current trend index of SME business income fell from 44.8 in the contracted area in October 2025 to 44.5 in November 2025, while the business earnings outlook index for the next month (that is, December 2025) is 47.5.
According to industry analysis, the current business revenue trend index for the industries covered by some statistical surveys fell in November 2025 compared to the previous month, particularly the logistics industry (down from 43.3 to 42.2) and the import and export trade industry (down from 45.7 to 44.7).
The current trend index for new orders in the import and export trade industry fell from 47.1 in October 2025 to 46.0 in November 2025, while the new order outlook index for the next month (i.e. December 2025) is 47.4.
A government spokesman said that after recording significant improvements in the past few months, the business atmosphere for SMEs was generally stable in November. Although the current trend index of business earnings fell slightly from last month's high, the index looking ahead to the next month remained high. Meanwhile, the overall employment situation improved slightly compared to the previous month.
Looking ahead, further steady economic growth in Hong Kong will support the local business climate. However, there are still uncertainties in the surrounding environment, and the government will closely monitor the relevant situation.
