The European Commission said that after Elon Musk's social networking platform X was fined 120 million euros for violating transparency regulations, the EU will “ensure” receipt of this amount. The European Commission said on Friday that X violated transparency obligations and deceptive interface design rules under the EU's Digital Services Law, and therefore made a 120 million euro penalty decision. In response to questions from reporters at a regular press conference, European Commission spokesman Thomas Regnier said, “X must pay this fine. This 120 million euros must be paid, and we will make sure we get this money.” He pointed out that X still has a chance to challenge the decision in court. “Procedural steps need to be followed, and any decision made by the Commission can be challenged before the European Court of Justice.” X has yet to say whether it will appeal.
