Investors who take an interest in Advanced Flower Capital Inc. (NASDAQ:AFCG) should definitely note that the Executive Chairman, Leonard Tannenbaum, recently paid US$2.87 per share to buy US$155k worth of the stock. However, it only increased shareholding by a small percentage, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

Advanced Flower Capital Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Executive Chairman Leonard Tannenbaum was not their only acquisition of Advanced Flower Capital shares this year. They previously made an even bigger purchase of US$2.2m worth of shares at a price of US$4.81 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$2.88 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

While Advanced Flower Capital insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!
