Tesla launched a lower-priced Model 3 model in Europe, and the product line was expanded just two months after the release of this version in the US. The Model 3 Standard Edition still has a range of over 300 miles and is expected to be a popular choice for budget-conscious consumers. The launch of the Model 3 Standard Edition comes at a time when Tesla is facing a decline in registrations in many European countries — sales in the region have yet to fully offset the impact of changes in consumer preferences. Many buyers have switched to models such as the Volkswagen ID.3 and the BYD Atto 3, which both have taken advantage of aggressive pricing. By cutting out some high-end features and decorations, Tesla positioned the new Model 3 Standard Edition as an “ultra-low cost of ownership” option for its all-electric sedan. Its pricing varies from market to market: €37,970 in the German market, NOK 330,056 in the Norwegian market, and SEK 449,990 in the Swedish market, which is far lower than the “high-end” Model 3, which starts at €45,970 in the German market. Delivery of the standard model is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026, giving Tesla a foothold in the entry-level market in Europe, which is increasingly focused on the sub-€40,000 market segment.
