The China Earthquake Network officially determined that a 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred at 15:44 on December 4, 2025 in Aheqi County, Kyzyl, Suzhou, Xinjiang, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The average elevation within 10 km of the epicenter was about 2,887 meters. After the earthquake occurred, the China Earthquake Administration quickly initiated a three-level emergency service response. Wang Kun, party group secretary and director of the China Earthquake Administration, dispatched the China Earthquake Network Center and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Seismological Bureau online to listen to the earthquake report and request relevant units to conduct joint meetings to strengthen earthquake monitoring and post-earthquake trend research and judgment, and promptly report the relevant situation.
