On December 4, local time, the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics torch handover ceremony was held at Panathinaikou Stadium in Athens, the capital of Greece. On November 26, the Winter Olympics torch collection ceremony was held at the Olympia Archaeological Museum in Greece, followed by a nine-day relay within Greece. About 450 torchbearers participated. The entire 2,200-kilometer journey passed through 7 provinces and 23 cities. According to the complete Olympic torch relay route announced by the Milan Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the torch will be delivered from December 6, 2025 to February 6, 2026, with a total mileage of about 12,000 kilometers, passing through all 20 regions and 110 provinces of Italy, passing through more than 300 cities, and holding festivities in 60 cities. On the opening day of February 6, 2026, the Winter Olympics torch will ignite the main torch at Milan's San Siro Stadium.
