In response to the collusion between individual US congressional politicians and anti-Chinese riots who blatantly misrepresented the facts and interfered with the administration of justice in the SAR, a spokesman for the Hong Kong Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, and solemnly clarified the following position: 1. Lai Chi-ying's aggressive separatist activities have seriously undermined Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, and seriously endangered national security. The judicial authorities of the Special Administrative Region have tried the case fairly in accordance with the law, and there is no room for comment. Lebanon itself is a prisoner serving a sentence for multiple crimes, and there is no such thing as prolonged detention. Hong Kong's National Security Law fully protects human rights, and the legitimate rights and interests of Lai during his time in prison have always been fully protected. 2. Individual US politicians are ignoring Lai's criminal facts, ignoring the dignity of the rule of law in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, ignoring the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's efforts for disaster relief and rehabilitation over the past few days, using sinister intentions to wreak havoc with the families of anti-China rebels and hyping up cases, discrediting Hong Kong's rule of law under the guise of “human rights” and “freedom,” and excusing anti-Chinese Hong Kong activists. It is a political manipulation with ulterior motives. It is a flagrant violation of international law and the basic norms governing international relations. 3. Hong Kong's national security foundation is stable, and the prospects for governance and development are broad. Any interference and obstruction by outside forces and acts of sabotage by anti-Chinese rebels in Hong Kong will not shake the steady and far-reaching pace of “one country, two systems” or stop Hong Kong's historical process of integration into the overall national development agenda. We urge relevant US politicians to immediately stop harboring anti-Chinese rebels in Hong Kong, immediately stop manipulating attempts to disrupt Hong Kong, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs.
