French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beijing on December 3 to begin a three-day state visit to China. Macron posted on social media later today that he was happy to pay his fourth state visit to China. Macron said in the post that during these three days in Beijing and Chengdu, the French side will discuss with China the peace and economic issues that the world urgently needs. He also said he is committed to working with China and all partners to meet major challenges, and he believes that working together will make a difference. Regarding President Macron's visit to China, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that China is willing to work with France to use this visit as an opportunity to promote the spirit of establishing diplomatic relations between China and France, strengthen strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, close multilateral coordination, promote new progress in the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France, and make greater contributions to promoting the healthy and stable development of Sino-European relations, maintaining multilateralism and world peace, stability and prosperity.
