The highly controversial anti-China media “Voice of America” has been attacked again. According to a report in the US “New York Times” on the 2nd, following capital cuts and department abolition, the Trump administration will close several “Voice of America” overseas offices and radio stations. According to the report, Kari Lake, the head of the US International Media Agency appointed by US President Trump, submitted a report to the US Congress on November 25, stating that the US government will close 6 overseas news bureaus and 4 overseas marketing offices of “Voice of America” in Indonesia, Pakistan, Kenya, and the Czech Republic. In March of this year, Trump signed an executive order cutting financial support for “Voice of America” and restructuring its departments and personnel, leading to the suspension of a large number of personnel in the agency. The report mentioned that although the US federal court has asked the Trump administration to continue the operation of “Voice of America,” Lake has vigorously laid off employees and stopped broadcasting most of the “Voice of America” news programs.
